Dr. Joel Chapman
Dr. Joel Chapman serves as the founding pastor of New Covenant Baptist Church in Pine Mountain, Georgia. With a steadfast commitment to biblical teaching and mission work, he has dedicated his life to spreading God’s Word both locally and internationally.
Dr. Chapman married Glynn Ann Mosher of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on May 16, 1981. Together, they have three children: Elisha, who is now with the Lord; Shayna; and Amy, who is married to Matt Weipking.
Before answering God’s call to ministry, Dr. Chapman owned and operated a logging business, demonstrating his hardworking and entrepreneurial spirit. His academic journey reflects his dedication to theological scholarship, culminating in a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies with a concentration in the Old Testament from Piedmont International University. His doctoral thesis analyzed Ezekiel 38–39 under the guidance of esteemed biblical scholars. He also holds a Master of Divinity, a Master of Arts in Biblical/Theological Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Luther Rice University and Seminary, where he was recognized twice in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Dr. Chapman has extensive teaching experience, having served as an instructor at Luther Rice Bible University, Rock of Ages Bible Institute in Kenya, and New Covenant Baptist Bible Institute. He is also the Chancellor and curriculum designer for Rock of Ages Bible Institute, showcasing his dedication to equipping students and future church leaders.
His ministry extends far beyond the pulpit, encompassing global mission work, including outreach in southern India, church planting in Kenya, and conducting revival services in Jamaica and across the U.S. Dr. Chapman has also ministered through prison outreach, counseling men at rescue missions, and leading a weekly radio ministry for over a decade, sharing messages of faith with listeners worldwide.
Anchored by his faith and calling, Dr. Chapman’s life is a testament to his dedication to helping others know and experience the grace of God. His life verse, Philippians 4:13, serves as a guiding principle: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
